CANOE DEBATE: Moyola Angling Club do not own the river. They simply own the fishing rights for the river. Anyone can canoe, kayak, swim etc in the river if they so wish. In a report prepared for the countryside access & activities network for N. Ireland the Moyola River is listed as a river currently used for canoeing in N. Ireland. The vast majority of canoeists understand that a relationship must exist between anglers and canoeists and that the river environment must be respected especially at spawning periods etc. To simply say that they should not be there is just wrong. The river is for everyone to enjoy. Wether that be fishing or simply canoeing the river - whatever your in to!

Enjoy

To answer Glen Moore regarding the canoeists - they should not have been there, they have no right to be on a non-navigable river and the Moyola is such a river.
